History of THE PONES
For those who you have no idea what The Pones are about, this page is for you. Here, you will hear the complete story of the band. How they went from playing girls birthday parties in grade 7, to the energy filled Top-Secret shows held in Trout Run today.

Sit back, as youll find out how The Pones became the biggest thing to hit Trout Run since Bobbi-Jo Solomon.

Once Upon a Time...
There were 3 boys, John, Rusty, & Drew. They all grew up together in Trout Run,PA. Best friends since 1988, these 3 have grown up into the tightest musical trio ever to come out of this small highway town.

It all started when John's uncle Stash gave him and old electric guitar. Next Drew saved all his christmas & birthday $$$$$ and bought a bass guitar. The 2 of them began practicing together, learning the basics, and soon started playing in the basements and garages of girls(with no mics, just a lot of yelling) But the absence of a drummer was O SO noticable. Until the day Rusty was like "I could get some drums"

That he did, & in 1999, The Pones line up was set in stone. & it never changed. & it still hasnt changed. & its never gonna change. In fact, of all local bands in the greatet Williamsport area, The Pones have the longest standing tenure.(even more longstanding than Longstanding!)

Since then,The Pones have seen their share of ups & downs. Once, a week before the now infamous Fire Hall shows, Drew broke his pointer finger on a TD pass by John at Garczynski Field. But he played the show without the use of what is arguebly the 2nd most important finger. It seems that baseball never ends in PA, and John is often forced to be at game instead of a show, leaving Drew & Rusty high 'n dry.

No worries though. That was a long time ago, and now, The Pones have been Playing shows in their native Trout Run regularly. The response from everyone in town has been wonderful! Normally, kids playing loud fast music outside all day would get the cops called on them. But not The Pones! All over town, people say how hearing live music is like a breath of fresh air. & the kids who come to the shows are already requesting the songs by name, shouting "Play the Papa John's Song!" It's very gratifing as musicians to see kids wearing dirty PONES shirts as they ride their bikes down the streets of Trout Run.

So for now, The Pones will continue to do what they do best, and hopefully the fan base will expand beyond Bittners General Store. & if you read this, you are one step closer to becoming a genuine Poner.

Influences
The Pones have basically kept stedy with the same musical style throughout the years, and have sucessfully fought off all temptation to go 'EMOCORE' The style is mostly sloppy punk rok (the C is silent) & these are the band that have inspired and formed The Pones into the band they are today....
